Decisions, decisions decisions 10/23/2011

Its been a while since I last blogged,

a lot has been happening in Melissa and My life, a great weight has been lifted off our shoulders.

One that we have been carrying around the past eleven years

and know its time for me to make some some major life changing decisions, all for the good but needs to happen ASAP

It has to do with that dream we have about owning a piece of land and these decision that needs to made will be the start of that dream, I'm not going to lie, its scary as h*ll

Long Beach Autorama 2011

I was asked by my good friend Trace Edwards to trailer 2 vehicles out for his show in Long Beach california. The two vehicles were scheduled and I was ready to go but four days before I was to leave one of the vehicles owner backed out and we couldn't fill that spot so I downsized the truck and trailer and left out to Long Beach.
I have to say I love the drive, this country we live in is so breathtaking and unbelievable, the drive alone was worth it!

Once again I was able to be involved with a show that will be Historical! This is an event that you should try and make, the indoor section has some of the finest Kustoms and a great collection of awe inspiring history in the historical hall. The wall of Legends was unbelievable! We all need to support shows like Trace's if not for the love of the vehicles, do it for the history.

Been busy........

WoW

Its been kind of crazy lately and its not going to let up anytime soon. 

I fly out on Thursday Aug 11 to North Carolina to visit a friend that opened up  Holohan's Hot Rod Shop/,

it will be interesting, I'll post it when I can.

In the mean time the Hot Rod Lincoln has taken a different path, the owner has decided to step up on the quality and given me the green light to take care of some needed issue's. The build is going to be detailed oriented.

We have hired a body man out of St Louis, he has worked now for 4 weeks and is making the commitment and moving his stuff this weekend. Dan is a much needed addition to the team. Welcome aboard Dan, go sling some mud!

In September I will be attending Long Beach Motorama but not alone, I will be taking two vehicles out for Trace. Larry Terpstra's 1930 Ford Coupe and the Milk Truck built by Dan Woods

Good things seem to be happening!

Bare Bones 7/14/2011

Melissa and I went up to a local cruise night in Lombard @ Braurer House held by the Bare Bones CC and what a turn out. VooDoo Randy showed up with Hellion and his Caddy and Lit the lot up.

Inside were enjoyed some cold beverages and this place has the best burgers!

3/23/2011 Goin Green

We have made the move to a greener shop..... Waterborne!

With the help of PPG and our supplier we made the swap earlier this week. Out with Lessonal and DuPont and in with PPG's Envirobase Waterborne. With some minor changes to the booth all under $500.00 we are now able to spray waterborne.

Tomorrow we have two vehicles both Silvers (one of my favorites!) to spray and we will be using the Envirobase along with PPG's sealers and 4000 clear.

March 24 2011

Today we worked with PPG and applied the Envirobase on the two jobs, what an ease it was to use!

This is Brian, Brian is my apprentice and we gave him a chance to apply the waterborne base on the bumper and skirt, I feel he will be able to work with this with no issue's see unlike me he has very little experience in shooting solvent so he doesn't have 20 years pounded into him that he has to change.

Da Band 2/5/2011

I stopped by Larry's shop Saturday, they were shooting promo photos for his new band Little Red and the Howling Wolves and was invited over to his house for band practice.

So Melissa and I packed up some Hordedores and wine and headed over to hear some great music!

Dumb ass me decided that I could make it to work and so I set out at 7:30am. I finally made it to the shop at 11:30 four hours later. I spent three of those hours digging myself out of a
4 foot snow drift with just a snow brush but I made it!
