swing hard and run like hell!

Today marks an anniversary for me, three years ago my life changed, (life actually started to change approximately 8 years ago.... long story) I was hired as an apprentice as an operating engineer. The apprenticeship is a three year program but with determination, skill and support from some great friends and family I was allowed to take my license exam only a year and half into my apprenticeship. Not even two years into the apprenticeship I was offered a position as an operating engineer at the location I was apprenticing at, blew me away! 

My point is I'll be 57 come this February, life can and will throw you a curve ball but its up to you how you choose to swing at hit at it. 

My suggestion is to swing hard and run like hell!

What the hell.... I still do what I love to do but on a limited basis, I have goals and we are on the right track to achieve them.

Herb's 80th Birthday

Had everyone meet at a place up the road called Como Inn, awesome steaks! well over 60 plus people came out to celebrate with the family, its was a great night with friends, family, and food!

F*cking sh*t hit again this time one of our four legged family members, Orion. 

Ya see it's more than a pet thing especially when they are part of your life and this guy has been for almost 15 years as one of our family members sharing in the good and bad times. 

I'm sorry, I'm definitely not one for spilling family stuff on the intranet but this one hurts. 

He's hasn't been himself the last four or five days so we took him in to our vet (one of the best in our area) and found out he has lymphoma and bad, giving him about a weeks worth of quality life......
